I purchased this set as a replacement for the flat, brick red bases our little league issued us for team practices. The vinyl outer shell makes them easy to clean-up. There is enough padding in them to give good haptic feedback to the kids when hitting the bases and they are fairly simple to pin down and pull up (depending on the ground you are on, of course). Most of the stakes have a slight gap in the eyelet that the bottom straps can be slide through which makes it easy to attach/detach the stakes. However, 2 of our pins didn't have enough clearance to let the strap slide through, and without any tools to open it up more, we had to unstrap 2 straps to insert the stakes. That was a pain! The strap is a good quality nylon it seems, but the buckles are made of thin, easily bendable metal. It was a chore unbuckling and re-buckling the straps.
