The reason I buy these pumps, is because above ground pools , come with a pump that are insufficient, which means the pools always turn green, but with this more powerful pump that doesn’t happen, so I always buy these pumps and it keeps the pool clear and cleanI love it it works just like the hayward at a better price. Only complaint is the are 2 metal screws on top that look like the should be attached to something and directions didn't say anything about it. I am thing its for a on off switch. which it doesn't have. Was very easy to setup just screwed on the hoses and plug in.Pump was a good replacement for the old one. Shipping was very quick. The only drawback was the lack of a switch. But it runs nice and quiet and has good volume. Definitely would buy another... hopefully a long time in the future.This was a replacement for my (dying for a while, very noisy) pump. Friend installed it in less than 5 minutes. It is QUIET - don’t even hear it running! Welcome relief from the old, very noisy one. Circulates water very well & I’m completely happy with it. Ordered on a Monday; it arrived on Thursday and was installed that evening.After my 8 year old sta-rite started to leak internally, I purchased this pump and it's been running about a month without any issues. 15 minute swap as all the original adapters, hoses, etc. fit perfectly. The only wrinkle in installation was my old pump had a NEMA twist plug and this is a standard three prong. I just switched the electric cord from the old pump and installed it into new pump. This pump is very quite compared to my old pump, it looks solid and well made. Only time will tell how reliable this pump. It does not have on/off switch just like my old pump.Directions say not for soft sided pool. Ordered wrong thing.So far this is a great pump. No problems at all.So after a summer's use, mine CAUGHT ON FIRE and almost burned down the woods behind my house! So why 3 stars instead of 1? Doheny's customer service was the bomb. Total refund, paid return, even after the warrantee had expired. I've bought lots of things from Doheny, and this is the first one that was bad. I'll buy from them again.
